Happy Birthday Charles Dickens!

Here are a few facts that you may have never knew about of one the greatest and recognizable English writers of all time.

  1. Dickens loved going for walks. In fact, he would sometimes walk up to 20 miles outside of town.
  2. Though at times Charles lived paycheck to paycheck, he ended up having full house with 10 children.
  3. His formal education ended at age 15. At that age, he because a “serious smoker”.
  4. Dickens edited a weekly journal for 20 years, wrote 15 novels, hundreds of short stories, and campaigned vigorously for children’s rights and education.
  5. Charle’s first love was Little Red Riding Hood.
