“There is more treasure in books than in all the pirate's loot on Treasure Island.” - Walt Disney
Treasure can be found between the pages of a good book! This month’s free reading posters are pirate-themed. Download them below. We’ve also included pirate-themed books you can collect to create book displays in your library.
Ahoy Me Hearties! Avast, It’s Read a New Book Month
Did you know it’s Read a New Book Month? Inspire your students to check out something new from the library throughout the month of September!
Here’s how you can make the most of Read a New Book Month:
- Help students find books they wouldn’t normally read. Create a reading list with newly published books and where to find them in the library. This can be a physical list or a digital reading list in Alexandria.
- Create a September reading challenge by challenging students to read all the books on the reading list before the end of the month. You can include prizes as an incentive.
- Make time for a book tasting activity. Learn more about the activity here.
