Tip for: 03.3.08What's New with Renewals? Summary: With the release of 5.5.3, seeing the items a patron has checked out has become so much easier. And, in addition, you may change the due date of an item, renew one, some or all of the patron's items, or declare an item lost all in one place.The last icon (two arrows in a circle) on the left side of the Transaction Log tab is the Renewals icon. This icon also appears under the picture area of the Current Patron pane on the Circulation window. Clicking on this icon opens the Renewal pane on the Transaction Log. You may perform any of the following functions connected with this window by using the buttons at the bottom of the window.Set Due Date - This feature enables you to set a due date other than the normal check out period that would be assigned if you merely renewed the item.To use the Set Due Date feature:
Renew - Renew one, several, or all items.To renew one item, highlight the item and click the Renew button.To renew multiple items:
Renew All - Clicking this button will renew all items checked out to the current patron. There is no attempt to limit these renews by policy settings. If policy settings must be followed, use the steps above to renew multiple items.Declare Lost - To declare an item lost, highlight the item, then click the Declare Lost button. |
