Smile  —  Your Patrons on "Alex Cam"

Summary:  Having patrons' pictures in Alexandria is a tremendous advantage for those who are "name-face challenged." Downloading the pictures from a disc provided by your school pictures vendor is easy, but what do you do about the students who enroll after the pictures were taken?  Alexandria has made it very easy for you to get those patrons' pictures into your system.

Your will need a compatible FireWire camera plugged in the appropriate port and turned on.

• In Circulation, make the desired patron the Current Patron.

• Go to the Patron Management module by clicking on the patron's name, using the hot-key combination (cmd-L for Macintosh or ctrl-L for Windows), or by going to Show on the menu bar and selecting Patrons.

• Go to Patrons on the menu bar and select Take Patron Picture.
  
  
• The Video window will open and real-time video should automatically begin streaming in the Video window. You may use the ZOOM scroll bars to manually adjust the picture's composition.
  
  
• Click on the Take Picture button to take a snapshot of the patron.
• Close the Video window.
