Amazon.com and Alexandria

Summary: The recent update of Alexandria allows for a link to Amazon.com from an item's Detail window in Researcher. This can be helpful to view more information about an item, such as the cover art and reviews. Linking to Amazon.com also allows users to see when new titles will be released and to find the titles for other books in a series. Another help for librarians and patrons is the ability to view the cost to purchase an item, if a copy needs to be replaced or the hold queue is long and the patron is contemplating purchasing the item rather than waiting.

To link to Amazon.com:

Select Preferences from the Edit menu.

Use the Local drop-down menu to choose Global Library Information preferences.

Click on the Search Add-ons tab and click the Show Amazon.com checkbox at the bottom of the tab.
