Patrons Relocating? Make Changes from the Circulation Window

Summary: If a student changes teachers or the name of a class's teacher changes in a school setting, the NP command or patron utilities can be a quick timesaver for changing this information for several patrons at once.

To set a new Patron Location from Circulation:

Open Alexandria to the Circulation window

In the command line, type NP and then the new Location (Teacher's Name).

Press <enter> to set the NP mode.

Scan the patron barcodes to be changed to the indicated location.

To change a Groups location from Utilities:

With Alexandria open, select Utilities from the File menu.

Choose Patrons from the Utility Type drop-down menu.

Use the Operation menu to click on Replace Information.

Set the Replace menu to Homeroom (Location).

Enter the new name or location in the With field.

Set the Select By menu to Homeroom (Location).

Enter the old location information in the Starting with and Ending with fields.

The Barcode List or Barcode Range options can also be used, depending on patrons to be changed and what they might have in common.

Click Run.
