Using Publication Date Summary for Collection Development
Summary: The Publication Date Summary report has always allowed you to see the age of your collection; however, we recently added two formats, Ignore Super Summary Classifications and Super Summary Classifications, which display the average publication year, the number of titles and copies, and the year-to-date and life-to-date usage in each area of your collection.
To run a Publication Date Summary Report:
- Select Item Reports from the Reports menu.
- Use the Report Name drop-down menu to choose Publication Date Summary.
- Choose Ignore Super Summary Classifications from the Format drop-down menu.
- Select the appropriate sort option from the Sort By drop-down menu.
- Use the Select By drop-down menu to choose the desired selection criteria.
- Click Print.
Note: Use Super Summary Classification to show statistics based on Alexandria's assigned categories. The Standard format shows by year how many items have that publication date.
