Changing Item Window Tabbing
Summary: With 5.4.4 Rev. C, Alexandria now offers some versatility in its tabbing behavior. Learn more about this preference setting.
As part of the Display Settings preferences, you may choose either of two methods of tabbing behavior for Alexandria—either the normal tabbing behavior based upon your operating system or the reversal of that tabbing behavior.
Normally on a Macintosh, tabbing only works between fields and lists. On Macintosh, checking this box allows tabbing to controls other than edit fields and lists. Windows normally also allows tabbing to controls other than edit fields and lists. On Windows, checking this box limits tabbing to edit fields and lists.
To change tabbing behavior:
- Select Preferences from the Edit menu.
- Click on the Preferences drop-down menu (where it displays Library Information) and select Display Settings.
- Use the drop-down menu in the middle to select Global.
- Click on the Miscellaneous tab.
- Then, click on the Reverse normal tabbing behavior check box. This allows you to use your keyboard to enter information into the different fields.
- Click the Save button to save the changes made.
Note: Holding down the control key while tabbing temporarily reverses this preference.
Thank you,
The Alexandria Staff Librarians
