Summary: Where's that Alex Users Manual the moment you need it? This week we'll discuss adding an electronic version of the manual to your Alexandria Links menu for quick access.

To download the most recent version:

From a program CD:

On Mac: Double click on the Companion CD to open it. On Windows: Double-click on My Computer, then double click on the Companion CD (generally the D: drive.

Double-click on the Alexandria Installers folder.

Then, double-click on the appropriate platform (e.g. Mac or Windows).

Finally, double-click on the Alexandria Installer folder. The PDF of the manual is inside this folder.

From COMPanion's website:

Using your web browser, go to http://www.goalexandria.com

Click on the Support tab.

Select Updates from the list.

Click on the Accept and Proceed button.

Choose Update Alexandria 5.44 for Mac and Windows.

Enter the requested information, including your Alexandria Serial Number.

From the list on the right-hand side of the new window, select the users manual PDF and download it to your desktop.

Use the directions for Accessing the Links Menu folder to copy this file for accessing using the Links menu in Alexandria.

Items are accessible from this menu by placing them in the Link Menu folder that is found in your Alexandria program folder.

To access this folder on a Mac:

Open up your hard drive by double clicking on it.

Then, find your Alexandria folder and open it by double-clicking.

You should see a folder named Links Menu inside of it. You can either double-click on the folder to open it up to drag and drop into, or simply drop the items on top of the folder.

To access this folder on Windows:

Double-click on My Computer.

Select the drive that is your hard drive (generally the C: drive) and double-click on it.

Then, find the folder called Program Files and double-click to open it.

Next, double-click on the Alexandria folder.

Located inside this folder you will find the Links Menu folder.

As with the Mac, you can either double-click to open it up to drag and drop into it, or simply drag and drop items on top of the folder.

This folder can also be found on Windows by right-clicking on the Start menu and selecting Explore and then following the same steps listed above. On Windows, you can also copy and paste application aliases and documents into the folder.
