District technicians and librarians often ask us if a) Alexandria can automatically update their patron information, and b) if they can update their Student Information System (SIS) patron data from Alexandria. This is because computer technicians and librarians are constantly seeking time-saving means when it comes to importing patron information. A significant amount of time is spent manually adding new patrons throughout the school year. Even the school administrative staff has sought solutions that would allow fines and overdue statistics to be imported automatically into the SIS.

Update your Alexandria Patron Information—SIF not required. Alexandria is Schools Interoperability Framework (SIF) Certified—contact your sales representative for more details. For schools that don’t yet have SIF capabilities, or have no plans to implement SIF, there is an alternative solution to facilitate the flow of patron information. Automatic Patron Data Import/Export functionality allows you to set the frequency of imports and exports; it is simple to use and only requires a minimal amount of technical support staff time during the initial setup.
