Quotes from our Customers
"Everyone in tech support is so knowledgeable, helpful and patient. Their assistance is invaluable and greatly appreciated!"
Arna Schwartz, Librarian, Pressman Academy-Library, Los Angeles, California
"Alexandria has proven to be a real time saver in my library operation. I utilize it not only to check-in and check-out material, but also to organize the collections, search for materials for research or help in purchasing, print out numerous reports for myself and the state, and the list goes on.
"It has helped to make our library user friendly and efficient for both students and faculty. Not only is the program great, but the Alexandria staff is too. They have been more than helpful when called. And, now I'm beginning to utilize the "Tip of the Week" located on their website.
"Keep up the good work. Thank you."
Linda Thompson, Benton HS-St. Joseph, Missouri
"Thank You Companion! I just need to let you know that your company has been of great value over the years to myself and our elementary library. There is someone always available to answer my questions about the Alexandria System. I never have to wait! When ordering supplies, they always arrive promptly. And if there is a problem with the order, Companion is always ready to make it right. I do appreciate doing business with a company that backs their services and products. Thank you again."
Molly Dittoe, Berne Union Elementary-Sugar Grove, Ohio
"We selected Alexandria for our automation system. We are a K-12 district and we are very happy. We have four K-5 schools, one middle school and one high school. The system works well at all levels. We automated about four years ago. We had very few problems and Companion always came through for us when we did have a problem. You always get an immediate response from Companion. We use the Mac version, but we are looking into the Windows version for the HS since the School Board would like the HS to be totally PC."
Deborah Semrad, Librarian, Lakeview Elementary School, South Milwaukee, Wisconsin
"I am Nancy Konopinski. I am the librarian at Northpoint Elementary in the Penn-Harris-Madison School Corporation. We currently have 350 children Grades 1-5 in our school. Because of high enrollment and lack of space, our Kindergarten classes have been located in a sister school.
"I have 'grown up' with Alexandria and and simply awe-struck with it. I had been in my other school for eighteen years--thirteen years as a teacher aide and five years as a librarian. I put that library on the Alexandria system and was given one year to complete that task. Starting from scratch, I am more than pleased that I had that extra time. When our corporation opened two new schools, I was asked (because of experience) to take on one of those new schools. I am very familiar with Alexandria, and, since it is the only system I have worked with, I am very partial to it...
"We also used Follett Publishing for our opening day collection and received the books shelf ready and info on disk that just had to be imported. That was a blessing! We received 4,000 books from a sister school that closed when we opened but, unfortunately, they all had to be re-bar coded. After many conversations with Companion, that ended up being the best choice.
"Again, I am truly HAPPY with Alexandria and all its functions!"
Nancy Konopinski, Librarian, Northpoint Elementary, Granger, Indiana
"In the fall of 1994, East Chilliwack Elementary became the first elementary school library in Chilliwack to automate and became the first elementary school in Canada to use Alexandria. I have never regretted this decision for a moment. When I think of Alexandria, the words user friendly and fun to use come to mind. This is true for all users, whether they are students, teachers, or parent volunteers. Before the collection was automated there was never enough time to prepare bibliographies for staff, now it's a simple task and one of hundreds of reports that the program can do.
"Automating gives you a complete picture of the resources in your school. Not only do you know what you have in your collection, you can track items easily and inform the administration about the value of each part of the collection. I believe that all schools, regardless of size, should be automated. Alexandria is the best program for the job."
Randi Hermans, Teacher Librarian, Chilliwack, British Columbia
"Alexandria is the best library automation system available for under $10,000. It is the perfect solution for our small, rural public library, and we looked at SEVERAL systems with much higher price tags. It is technically very easy to install and manage and very easy for non-technical staff to operate. It is cross-platform, and with the built-in Web server it is a breeze to get an online public access catalog up and running quickly. It has so many features that we haven't even used yet, but it will be hard for us to "outgrow" this system. COMPanion Corporation is very receptive to user input and places great importance on customer service."
Jackie Pomeroy, Director of Technology and Grants, New Waverly Public Library, Texas
